Another week and another great week in NYC. Oh.... I must put this picture of our private rooftop garden in this blog. It is just outside my home. The garden is tended by a few plants loving neighbours. They have maintained it very well.... extremely welcome sight in this urban city.

Today is the SIN chili crab festival in NYC. The annual event is host by tiger beer... yes... our brew in SIN. I was informed over the internet of this event, so I pop by to see it.

It is in long island, outside the riverview restraunt. The police closed the street 50-48 in long island for this event.

The place has a great view of the East river and the manhattan skyline.

I like the atmosphere. A lot of Singaporeans and loads of Singaporean's favourite food. The carnival has massage, children drawing, face painting, food demo, beer and food. Like Roti Prata, Chili crab, Chinese fried chun Jun, and chicken Curry rice. They are not cheap

For all the friends who know me, i have a soft spot of pretty girls. Yes, this is my beautiful girl of the day.
Very nice and cute.....

There is lion dance and chinese Kung fu performance on the street too.

Taichi Performance. Very nice.... I mean the movements.... :P

Lion dance.... Marion, Stanley, Jingyuan, Kuanhan..... and all NYJC liondance mates, I think we can perform better than them.... :P

Suddenly across my view, I saw a pretty girl and see from afar, she looks like one of my good friend.
For those who are in NUS Wushu team, does she reminds U of QiuXia? She definitley does to me. But I think our Qiuxia is prettier hor.... haha...... I guess I miss her.
Wushu always brings back good memories. Been in it since young, so I have loads of good friends there. I also will be missing Mongwey and Shaoxiong's wedding, else can catch up with U guys then.

Food Diary.... yes.... for all those who are watching how Ah fook has been cooking. Especially my mom. I am doing very well with my cooking. Improving alot liao..... haha......

My roof top house got a great view too. I like the view and the greenery .... it feels so SIN.

Personally I think Singapore has the best seafood variety. Yes, taste and cost consideration, U can always get good seafood in Malaysia. But variety wise, Singapore is second to non.... and all taste superb (compare to New York... hehe...bias comments.... because I miss home).

Great to see your photos of Chili Crab Fest.
I was in S'pore two years ago on a family reunion, my mother was born there. Unfortunately, I wasn't involved with Tiger Beer then because I would have enjoyed seeing TigerLive Entertainment complex. Have you been?
Last year, I was their on-air spokesperson promoting their 3rd Annual Tiger Beer Chili Crab Festival in New York:

I got to meet the winning chef of the Singapore Chili Crab contest from Jumbo Seafood Restaurant. I adapted their winning sauce for a shrimp dish:

It was a huge, buzzing street fair, 5,000 attended. Here are photos: http://www.eleanorhoh.com/ccf.html
Tiger Beer USA sponsors all my Wok Star cooking events, like cooking classes and Hoh Wok Club gatherings:

I teach Asian wok cooking in Miami and market a Wok Star Cooking Kit on my website. Paula who came to my class did a fantastic writeup about it on her blog with photos:

You have gas, have you ever used a cast-iron wok? It's the best, my mother introduced me to using cast iron. My husband never learned to cook till 2 years ago and now is a Wok Star!

Hi Fook Cheong,
Read your blog today when my boss is not in his office. Glad to know that you enjoy your life in New York. Just one request: please take picture of the food you cook with care, they certainly deserve better photographic skills.
Off course, not too bad for a green horn of the kitchen.
Cheers.
