Philippines Parade in NYC

Another summer day, went around town to explore the city with my camera once again.

The weather is nice with the wind cooling off the warm summer heat.

Today is 3 June 2007, and it is the Philippines day in NYC.





The people of philippines are wonderful folks. They are all very proud of their country and culture. I think as a alien in New York, I must be proud of being a Singaporean too.

I like this picture, very sweet. The grandfather and daughter relationship is deep and touching. i wish I can hold my grand daughter and watch a parade like this one day.








After this parade, I went to the bazaar and have a nice BBQ pork and immerse in their culture for a moment. I really love the philippinoes, they are nice people with loads of passion and love for life. That must the main reason why they are proud of their background.
I must visit philippines one day.

Ah Fook in America

Ah Fu is now in USA and staying in the vibrant city of New York, Manhattan!

This is the first time I staying alone outside Singapore for a long period of time. This is a really cool enviroment. Staying in the big Apple and living the American dream is a dream for me.
Currently, now the climate is early summer, and I can feel the vibrant heat wave of summer. And it feels just like Singapore, but less humid. Therefore, I am enjoying every moment of it.

My family and friends come to see me off in Singapore, Changi Airport. Very nice of them to come all the way down to say goodbye. Aunts and uncles also send me some small gifts. Very touching. Thanks folks!





I will miss all my good old friends and family. Nevertheless, this is a new journey in life and there are many friends to make and meet along the way. It will be a difficult begining. I will work hard to keep it loaded with joy and happiness. This will make this journey of leaving behind my friends worth much more.





These two ladies are friends I made during my flight to NYC. I really like SIA and their friendly service. Make this relocation effort not too bad:)



Summer is here and people in New York are all up and active. They are performing all sorts of arts on the streets. There are so many different celebrations in town. It is really a city that is very much alive.



Even the animals are coming out of their hiddings to join in the fun of summer.



The flowers are also very beautiful in summer. They bloom in full blossum. And that makes the air smells wonderful.



Even the good old lady Liberty is seen moving around taking pictures with tourist.



Life in New York is not cheap, so I have to device a way to cook my own meal. Here is one good example of my first few cooking. I must say, it is a very good effort, and the taste is much better than some of the food courts here. Oh... that drink is not wine, it is the green tea i brew over the stove.



The housing I am in now is near my working area. It is nice and comfortable. The TVs are link to cable and there are loads of channels to watch. However, there are no soccer channel, so I doubt i can have a chance to catch any liverpool match live in USA.









And the rooms are large and the most important is the kitchen has all I need to do a good meal.






Another of my wonderful meal I come up with a simple stove and a pan. I think I am really talented cook. haha....


Well.... the bull is on the rise, and Ah fu is on the drive. The days look wonderful, and I will continue to work hard.
